Village of Orland Park unveils Shop Orland Park Program

ORLAND PARK, IL (June 29, 2020) – The Village of Orland Park proudly announces Shop Orland Park, an ongoing program promoting Orland Park’s vast array of businesses and encouraging shoppers to Shop, Dine and Play in our community. 

“The past few months have been difficult for everyone in Orland Park including our business community,” said Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau. “Despite these hardships, so many in our business community have shown true dedication by continuing to operate at some capacity while managing to keep employees and customers healthy and safe.”

At the June 15, 2020 Village Board meeting, the Village Board approved the Shop Orland Park program.  Initially, two incentive rebate programs will be offered. 

Beginning July 6, 2020 and continuing through August 2, 2020, the Village of Orland Park will kick-off the Shop Orland Park Incentive Rebate Program. Under the terms of the program, purchases from $300-499 qualify for a $10 Visa® gift card, and purchases $500 and more qualify for a $30 Visa® gift card.   Under the program, anyone submitting copies of receipts from any of the Orland Park retailers, restaurants, or hotels during the July shopping period (July 6, 2020 through August 2, 2020) will be eligible for either a $10 or $30 Visa® gift card.

In order to claim the Visa® gift card, shoppers must submit copies of sales receipts along with a completed Shop Orland Park Incentive rebate form, available at www.ShopOP.org, to Orland Park Village Hall, 14700 Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462 by August 31, 2020.  Purchases must be made at retail sales tax collecting establishments within the corporate limits of the Village of Orland Park.  There is a limit of one gift card per adult.  The incentive program is open to both residents and non-residents and is based on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.  The Shop Orland Park Visa® gift card is redeemable at any Orland Park business.

The second program, the Orland Park Autos Vehicle Incentive Program, grants a rebate in the form of a Visa® gift card after the purchase of a new or used vehicle at any Orland Park auto dealership from July 6 through August 2, 2020. The Shop Orland Park Visa® gift card is based on the vehicle purchase price and can be valued at up to $525.  The Shop Orland Park Visa® gift card is redeemable at any Orland Park business.

“Orland Park has always been the destination of choice for area car shoppers,” said Pekau. “This program gives just one more reason by rewarding prospective buyers for choosing our community in which to purchase their vehicle.”

In order to claim gift cards, purchasers must mail copies of the original sales receipt and tax form (ST-556) along with the completed application form, available at www.ShopOP.org, to Orland Park Village Hall, 14700 Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park, IL 60462 by August 31, 2020. 

“Shopping local is a win-win for Orland Park,” said Pekau.  “Every dollar you spend in Orland Park helps Orland Park residents and businesses.  Local businesses provide jobs for local residents.  This has a trickle-down effect since owners and staff also shop locally, which further boosts our economy.  Shopping local also generates more sales tax revenue.  One of the reasons that Orland Park has among the lowest municipal tax rates is because of our robust retail and auto sector.”
