Orland Park Police Introduce Innovative Fusus Program to Enhance Community Safety

Orland Park, IL (October 20, 2023) - The Orland Park Police Department is proud to announce the launch of the groundbreaking Fusus program, a cutting-edge initiative aimed at integrating business and home security camera assets to create a safer Orland Park.

"The Fusus program represents a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and security of our community. By leveraging the power of surveillance technology and engaging our residents and businesses, we are empowering everyone to actively contribute to a safer Orland Park," said Orland Park Police Chief Eric Rossi.

This innovative program harnesses the power of technology and community collaboration to enhance public safety and crime prevention efforts.  The Fusus program is designed to leverage the existing network of security cameras throughout the community, enabling law enforcement to access real-time video footage in the event of an incident.

By partnering with local businesses and residents, the Orland Park Police Department aims to establish a comprehensive surveillance network that will greatly assist in solving crimes, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the safety of our community.

Through this voluntary program, businesses and homeowners can contribute to the collective security of Orland Park by granting the police department access to their camera footage. By doing so, participants become an invaluable resource in the fight against crime, helping law enforcement respond more effectively and efficiently to incidents as they occur.

"The Fusus program is a game-changer for law enforcement in Orland Park. By integrating security camera assets, we can respond more effectively to incidents, deter criminal activity, and ultimately, solve crimes faster,” explained Orland Park Police Commander Kenneth Rosinski. “This program exemplifies our commitment to leveraging technology and fostering collaboration to create a safer environment for all residents and businesses."

Key benefits of the Fusus program include:

1. Enhanced Crime Prevention: By integrating security camera assets, law enforcement gains a broader and more comprehensive view of the community, deterring criminal activity and reducing the likelihood of incidents.

2. Rapid Incident Response: Real-time access to camera footage allows the police department to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, improving overall public safety.

3. Efficient Investigations: The availability of high-quality video evidence significantly aids in identifying suspects, solving crimes, and bringing perpetrators to justice.

4. Community Collaboration: The Fusus program fosters a strong partnership between law enforcement and the community, empowering residents and businesses to actively contribute to a safer Orland Park.

The Orland Park Police Department assures residents and business owners that their privacy and security are of utmost importance. Access to camera footage will be strictly controlled and limited to authorized personnel, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
