Bike Ride for Special Olympics Illinois!

Orland Park Police Department is excited to host their 2023 Annual Bike Ride for Special Olympics Illinois.  This event is a leisurely paced 15 mile ride through Orland Park and the surrounding bike trails. The event kicks off and ends at Fattie’s Orland Park and will include water breaks halfway through the route. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. with the ride starting at 7:30 a.m. 

Who Can Participate?

The Ride for Special Olympics is open to any rider over the age of 12.  All participants are strongly encouraged to wear bicycle helmets during the event.

What is included in my registration?

Registration is $30 per rider. All participants must register online or by completing a paper registration from by Friday, August 25.  Paper forms may be returned to Orland Park Police Department or Village Hall. Each participant will receive an event shirt as well as breakfast at Fattie’s immediately following the event.

Orland Park's Special Olympics and Special Recreation Programs

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is the single largest year-round fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics of Illinois. With the help of the Law Enforcement Torch Run, athletes and their families are able to participate in the Special Olympics of Illinois at no cost. The Orland Park Police Department has participated every year for the last 30 years.

Coffee For Champions
Members of our department meet with customers at multiple Dunkin' Donuts locations, collecting donations and raising awareness for Special Olympics of Illinois.

Tip-A-Cop
Members of our department help servers at our local Red Robin and the tips we raise are donations to Special Olympics of Illinois.
