Admission Protocols

Open Gym/Field Admission Protocols.

  • Open gym/soccer field participants must register for a Resident ID/Non–Resident ID or be a Sportsplex member.
  •  All participants,13 and under, must be accompanied by a parent at all times. This includes Sportsplex members.
  • A parent must be present in the gym or soccer arena. Child(ren) must be within view of the parent at all times.
  • A ratio of up to five children to one parent shall be permitted. 
  • All open gym/field participants must wear the Sportsplex wristband of the day at all times. No refunds or replacement wristbands will be given if the wristband is lost.
  • Personal belongings of any type are not allowed in the gym or soccer arena on Fridays 4–10p, Saturdays 2–9p, Sundays 2–8p, all school days off and holidays.
  • Participants must be engaged in a sporting activity in the gym/soccer field or they will be asked to leave the gym/soccer field.
  • Fighting is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action that may include suspension, a ban from all Village Recreation & Parks facilities, and/or a municipal violation being issued.
  • Any individual engaged in a fight that results in a police response will be suspended from all Village Recreation & Parks facilities and shall be issued a municipal violation.
  • Individuals involved in an altercation, or that engage in inappropriate behavior that does not result in a police response shall be subject to suspension from all Village Recreation & Parks facilities according to the zero tolerance rules.
  • An individual suspended for one year or greater can apply for reinstatement after one year.
  • Additional rules and behavior expectations are posted in the gym and soccer arena.
  • The Village shall retain the right to suspend any individual from the Sportsplex and/or all other Village facilities if the actions by the individual warrant such action.

Zero-Tolerance Protocols

Zero-Tolerance Protocols are intended to ensure Sportsplex participants enjoy a fun, safe, and respectful environment.

The following behaviors will result in a suspension from all Village Recreation & Parks facilities, as well as a municipal violation:

  • Fighting, pushing, shoving.
  • A behavior or action that results in a police response.
  • Physical or verbal threats/threatening behavior towards staff or other participants.
  • Property damage.
  • Intimidation of other participants or staff.

The following behaviors will result in a suspension from all Village Recreation & Parks facilities:

  •   Bullying.
  •   Sexual harassment.
  •   Sneaking into areas the user is not authorized, or paid to use.
  •   Excessively swearing.
  •   Be uncooperative to staff’s direction.
  •   Utilizing features without paying for/obtaining a wristband.
  •   Vandalism of any sort. 

The length of a suspension will be determined by Recreation & Parks staff.

  • Individuals may appeal a suspension within 30 days.
  • Staff retains the right to increase suspension based on investigation findings.

The Village retains the right to permanently ban any individual from all Village facilities if an individual’s behavior warrants such action.

Recreation & Parks Department staff reserve the right to dismiss a patron from the Sportsplex when an individual engages in inappropriate behavior, is disrespectful, or threatening to staff

Participants not engaging in a recreational/fitness activity on the gym, soccer field, or fitness center will be asked to leave the facility.

Open Gym/Field General Information

Open Gym/Open Field is free to Sportsplex members. All non-members must pay the daily drop-in fee at all other times or use credits from the Resident Activity Pass for admittance. Wristbands are required. Wristbands that have been removed are invalid. Guest passes are not accepted for open gym/open field. No personal belongings are permitted in gyms during open gym hours. Sportsplex reserves the right to require a photo ID as proof of age, and limit the number of participants. Golf cages, volleyball and pickleball will be available from 5:30am to 3:00 pm, Monday thru Friday upon availability and by request only; not available on school days off. 

NO ORGANIZED PRACTICES OR PAID TRAINING/COACHING DURING OPEN GYM/OPEN FIELD TIMES.
